Baseball Season Preview

The 2021 Garfield baseball season is underway and the Bulldogs are poised for another run at the Metro League title.
Led by head coach Chris Moedritzer and captains Nate Korahias, Levi Bauck, and Denali Tonn, the varsity squad will play 14 game schedule over the course of the next month and a half. Garfield will play only Metro League opponents, with six of the games coming against powerhouse schools Eastside Catholic and O’Dea. Despite the difficult schedule, the Bulldogs will still have a shot at the Metro League title during the tournament in June.
Having not played an official game since 2019, the varsity squad is lacking experience, with only three current players having started a varsity game. This does not take away from the talent on the team, however. Seniors Korahias and Bauck, junior Aaron Herst, and sophomore Oliver Hogan will lead the team in the pursuit of the Metro League title.
The Bulldogs open the season on April 26th against West Seattle, followed by a double-header versus Eastside Catholic on the 29th.
