Garfield vs Timberline Preview
Aaron Orbeck
The Garfield Bulldogs’ State Championship challenge will begin February 26th against the Timberline Blazers.
The purpose of this game is primarily seeding and neither team will be eliminated. The Bulldogs have gone 21-0 and come into the tournament as the 1st seed. If Garfield beats the Blazers then they’ll advance straight to the semi-finals.
The Blazers are the 8th seed and are not favored to win. However, Timberline has star point guard Brooklyn Hicks who may cause the Bulldogs some trouble. The Blazers have a 16-4 record and lost to 2nd seed Auburn in their district tournament finals. Garfield beat Auburn in the Hardwood Invitational tournament so has a good chance of beating the Blazers.
If the Bulldogs lose against Timberline they will face the winner of the 9th seed Mountlake Terrace and 16th seed Kelso.
