The Garfield golf team played Ingraham High school on September 21st, looking for their fourth straight win. They got their wish in a sound 114-104 victory improving to 4-1-0.
They came into the match down a key player in Jake Rodgers, the team's second-highest scorer. Against a solid team in Ingraham, the match instantly became a lot tougher. Senior Jack Theiss and freshman James Lynch led it off, both shooting 42 for a score of 22. They combined for a score of 44. Next off the tee was senior Jack Jassy and sophomore Jackson Schlemmer, shooting a respective 49 and 47, equaling a score of 15 and 17 points. They totaled 32 points. Third off the tee was sophomore Jack Sundberg and freshman Cole Yagi. Jack shot a round of 49, equaling a score of 15. Cole massively overperformed expectations with a round of 41, totaling a score of 23 which outscored his season average by a whopping 7 points. They combined for a score of 38. That put Garfield over the top, winning with a score of 114-104.
