Garfield vs Franklin Recap

On Thursday May 27th, the Garfield Bulldogs boys soccer team took on their neighboring rival, the Franklin Quakers. Franklin coming into the game had a record of 1-3-0. Garfield came into the game undefeated at a record of 1-0-3.
Franklin started the game with a 1-0 lead but then junior Ioan Street scored the equalizer making it 1-1. Franklin then responded by scoring two more goals making the score going into halftime 3-1. In the second half Franklin kept scoring with the final score being 5-1. Garfield receives their first loss as their record goes to 1-1-3.
Garfield’s undefeated stretch ended on Thursday due to the loss against Franklin. During the game over five Garfield players had to leave the game due to medical issues. In the Metro league standings, the Bulldogs are tied for 4th place with Franklin. Garfield has two more games next week against Eastside Catholic on Tuesday at 6:45 and Thursday against Rainier Beach at 4:30. The Bulldogs plan to end their season with two more wins and hopefully make a playoff spot. Go Bulldogs!
