Garfield vs Cleveland Recap
Aaron Orbeck
The Garfield Bulldogs trounced the Cleveland Eagles 99-30. This is the Bulldogs’ second win of the season and bodes well for the future.
Garfield came out of the gates hot scoring 48 points to Cleveland’s 21 in the first half. However, the second half was even more one-sided when the Bulldogs scored 51 points while holding the Eagles to an astounding 9 points. The 22 steals for Garfield were instrumental to extending their lead. Koren Johnson accounted for 6 of those steals in his first game back. Johnson also scored 13 points. The well-rounded Garfield team was more than capable of handling Cleveland.
The next game will be Garfield’s first real challenge as they will go up against a Seattle Prep team that went 11-2 overall last season. Set for 7:15 PM at Seattle Prep, a win in this game would prove that the Bulldogs are legitimate state competitors.
