Similar to Garfield’s match against Cleveland, Chief Sealth only had three golfers on their team which made it difficult for them to compete. For the players Chief Sealth did have, they put up 20, 13, and one point in a 34 point effort. Garfield had its highest scoring match of the year with 102 points. Griffin Thoreson led the scoring with 22 points along with Jack Theiss with 20 points. Jack Sundberg and Jack Jassy had their best matches this year with 17 and 15 points respectively. Hiroshi Koda and Ian Wiltamuth had 15 and 13 points respectively to round out Garfield’s scoring.
The match was played at West Seattle golf course and it was the second time the Bulldogs have played there this year. In their first match at West Seattle, Garfield struggled and only had 81 points, but Garfield heavily improved on that effort yesterday with 102 points. Next, Garfield golf will face Eastside Catholic in their final regular season match. Eastside Catholic tied West Seattle earlier in the season, and West Seattle tied Garfield, so this match between Garfield and Eastside Catholic sets up to be a close one.
