Boys Soccer Preview

After the early end to the 2020 season, the men’s soccer team has even more to play for than usual. Head Coach Carlos Enriquez hopes to continue the legacy of success he has had in the program, notably winning the state championship in the 2018 season. While this year the state championship will not be held, the shortened season of just seven games this year leaves players with hopes of going unbeaten. Noticeably absent in the schedule is the highly competitive Roosevelt rivalry game.
Nonetheless, the players are still amped and ready to get back to the high school level after the unexpected hiatus, junior goalkeeper Ben Tallent commenting that “from what I’ve seen from the boys I’m excited and hopeful for what the season holds.” With masks adorned and new protocols in place, this year's unique season kicks off soon with Varsity headed to Chief Sealth at 4:00 on Wednesday the 28th, hopeful for a commanding win to set themselves up for the season to come. In the week following, the Bulldogs will be back playing their first home game in Memorial stadium in nearly two years, taking on Cleveland in another lively match up.
