Boys Cross Country Meet One Recap
Hayden Murphy
The Garfield Bulldogs cross country team had their first metro league meet on Wednesday at Magnuson Park. The meet featured five other teams including Roosevelt, Ballard, Ingraham, Eastside Catholic, and Nathan Hale.
The varsity boys came into this meet short-handed, missing two of their top three runners. It was a good opportunity for younger runners to perform and race with some pressure. Sophomore Kamil Zeribi led the way for the varsity boys and paced a group for the first half of the race. Varsity finished 4th out of six in the scoring, and the JV boys finished 2nd in their race.
These results don’t mean much since everyone automatically competes at Metros. Garfield travels to Lincoln next week for another league meet, and they’ll be looking to get back to full strength for that one.
