Baseball Week Five Recap
|
|
After playing three games over spring break, the Bulldogs can mark down the fifth week of their season as a successful one.
Their first game of the week was against Eastside Catholic. Aaron Herst pitched well for seven innings and only allowed two runs and struck out 12 batters. The game went into extra innings but Garfield came out on top after a walk-off by Juan Cano.
Garfield’s next game was one to forget. Their opponent was O’Dea High School whose pitching held the Bulldogs to just two hits. Garfield only allowed five runs but their offense couldn’t get anything going.
Fortunately, Garfield bounced back against Nathan Hale. Saul Johnson and Tommy Lessig together held Nathan Hale to a single run while the Bulldogs demolished Nathan Hale’s pitching to the tune of 22 runs. In the second inning, Garfield managed to score an incredible 16 runs.
After winning two games this week, the Bulldogs are now 10-6. They’ll face Lakeside, West Seattle, Roosevelt, and Bellevue next week.
